Total Commander, because you hate the explorer

While we're on the topic of recommending good freeware, we would like to tun your attention to Total commander. It's a great file browser that looks like to good old Norton Commander from the DOS era. (sample pic) It also has a striking resemblance to the old Windows file browser then the newer version that came with XP and Vista. Get it here.
Here are some of its features:

- Multiple language support
- Enhanced search function
- Compare files (now with editor) / synchronize directories

- ZIP, ARJ, LZH, RAR, UC2, TAR, GZ, CAB, ACE archive handling + plugins
- Built-in FTP client with FXP (server to server) and HTTP proxy support
- Parallel port link, multi-rename tool
- Tabbed interface, regular expressions, history+favorites buttons
- Thumbnails view, custom columns, enhanced search
- New: Updated interface+icons, compare editor, cursor in lister, separate trees, logging, enhanced overwrite dialog etc.
